GM study on pollen successfully implemented

31 May 12

Ameco was commissioned by the Netherlands Commission on Genetic Modification (COGEM) to conduct a study of bees, pollen and honey in collaboration with bees@wur.

Results indicate that the possible presence of pollen from genetically modified plants in honey do not pose a security risk. However, it is a problem for the freedom of choice and trade in honey. Solution of this issue requires adaptation of the EU rules.
